Adelaide Taster Trip Part Deux

Day 2 of the Adelaide trip! Here we are waiting for the bus. It was what, ten in the morning? We all slept at about 3 in the morning so waking up was kind of zombie-like. It was a Sunday morning and as you can see, the street ... is ... empty. Papa described it as being something like a ghost town. Haha.

Sammie was particularly sleepy. Considering that she got maybe a bit more sleep than Fyra and Aishah, she was pretty much sleepwalking the entire morning. x)

This was my all-day pass bus ticket. I kinda like how the public transport works over there, feels more efficient than over here anyway. And more reliable too. Buses come by every 15 to 30 minutes. And since Adelaide is an old people city the bus does this thing where it leans down so people with wheelchairs can come on board. I dunno if they have it here at home, I've never experienced it, haha.

So we took the bus to Harbourtown, which is the factory outlet mall thing. Was about 15 minutes bus ride, I think.

Me and the parents. :) I really like how windswept my hair looks here, hee. Anyway, they pretty much left me and the girls to do our own thing. I think they were enjoying the holiday together without having to jaga the kids since they were back home.

Okok guess what this is. :B It's dolphins right? Holes of dolphins right? THEY ARE HOLES OF DOLPHINS ON TRASHCANS. Hahahahaha I thought they were so cute, I shamelessly took a picture of it. I let myself only because for this trip I am a tourist so I am allowed to be overexcited about things like trash cans and take pictures of them. Next year when I go I have to play it cool. :p

The beach at Glenelg. :) It's nice, and Sha says you can see the sunset on clear days. It was cloudy on this day, so we went back on the tram before it got late. But we spent a nice amount of time sitting around and people-watching. I thought it was kinda cold though. And people were happily swimming and stuff. I am a weakling used to hot weather, haha.

My load of shopping for the day! Of course I didn't just buy for myself, bought for everyone back home too. Among all this is a pair of boots I got for Mira. I wanted them for myself at first but they didn't have my size. :( So Mama said to get them for her instead. They were only 10 AUD! Holy smokes. I got myself a couple of tops and some leggings and a bunch of other stuff. It was fun. Shopping at Brisbane had a lot more variety though, back when we went a couple of years ago.

So that's it for Day 2! Next time I'll update about the campus. :)

Adelaide Taster Trip Part Un

I have returned from the land Down Under! :D I've been home for a few days and I do believe it is time for an update. Here is the top part of my luggage, complete with Autobots and Purple Kangaroo luggage tags. The bag is actually Nazim's, which is why there is an Autobots luggage tag. The purple kangaroo (I have named her Kangapearl) is mine.

The flight was 6 hours and 40 minutes. I managed to sleep for about 3 hours of it, can't say the same for my parents though. It was kinda uncomfortable. Tried to watch Mukhsin on the in-flight screen thing but got too sleepy halfway through. I had this fish meal thingy at about midnight Malaysian time, which was delicious! Shame I was too sleepy to finish all of it. Anyway, above is a view of Hindley Street, which is where the apartments we stayed at was. Apparently it's nightlife area? Haha.

Reunited with my girls! Gosh, the feeling I had when I saw them walking down the street towards me, haha! I felt a little emotional. Sammie being Sammie came running up and tackle-hugged me. Then Fyra and Aishah got their turns to hug. I realise now that I didn't take enough pictures with Fyra during the trip. :( But here she is!

We were waiting for the tram. Can I just say that Adelaide is such a quaint city? It's so small and cute. Klang Valley feels like a huge universe in comparison.

This was one part of our lunch. Some kind of prawn thingy, can't remember the name. It was delicious! The prawns were super fresh. And the potatoes tasted lovely. We mostly ate seafood because we weren't so sure about the meat being halal. There's a reasonable amount of halal places to eat in the city though, so that's convenient. :)

After lunch the girls and I went to the park while my parents went to do their own thing. There are pedal boats on the river! So cute. I, being a tourist, decided to have a go. It was fun. We took a lot of pics but they're all with Aishah because I left Perry on the shore with Sammie. Pedaled around watching birds crap into the river, swans swimming around and even found a duck nest with three little ducklings in it. Awww.

Here, have a swan.

This is the view from the park, walking towards the city. I love the air there, it's very different from home. Crisper, in a way. And not quite so polluted. The streets are pretty clean, and the public transport is loads more reliable, haha. Anyway, we spent the rest of the day hanging around my apartment, catching up mostly. That's pretty much it for my first day. I'll update about Day 2 when I can. :) For now it is time to go back to the assignment grind! Or at least do something productive. Like draw. Hehe.

Till next time! <3

Mushroom Day

I have declared yesterday as Mushroom Day. To illustrate why, above we see a Portobello Mushroom Burger. Check that baby out. It tasted delicious by the way. Backstory! Yesterday was supposed to be assignment submission day, then class. However, class got cancelled so Nick and I submitted our assignments, then thought of maybe going to watch a movie. Then, lo and behold, Nad called! :D And she announced that she just got a job. Congrats Floofle bb <3 So we all decided to have lunch at Delicous @ Sunway Pyramid to celebrate.

The burger was Nick's, while Nad and I shared a plate of Mushroom Mascarpone Spaghetti. All three of us shared a basket of Crispy Breaded Mushrooms. No picture of that, sorry. I attacked it in hunger before I could grab a photo. Anyway, it was all delicious. I love the little walnut bits in the spaghetti, such lovely texture. And the burger's vegetarian I think, which was kinda confusing because the waiter asked Nick if he's okay with having beef but when the burger arrived, there was not any evidence of bovine remains in sight. How strange.

After that Nad had to go, but Nick and I continued by watching Real Steel. My thoughts? It was really predictable, but I thought the cinematography was pretty and the soundtrack was awesome. And despite it being predictable, I enjoyed it the whole way through. It was a very feel-good movie, I think. :) Although Nick pointed out that they didn't elaborate on a lot of interesting stuff and overall the 'villains' were pretty vanilla. It was a fun watch, anyway.

So now begins a week of holidays. I'll be leaving for Adelaide tonight to go see how it's like Down Under and visit Sammie, Aishah and Fyra. :D We shall be reunited once again. I'll be sure to update next week about my shenanigans there. Till then, tartar! <3

Glowy Kitty

More Project Draweekly. :D This is Alees. I used brushes for the background, check out surfing-ant from Deviantart if you want them too.

Anyway assignments are in full swing right now and at this moment I am procrastinating by updating this. Haha. I really want to update my blog layout, this one has been in use for years. Just need some extra time to sit down and tweak around. Until then, there will be just a few sparse updates. I've been busy the past week, what with assignments and whatnot.

Managed to meet up with Yen though, so that was good. We only ever get to meet up once ever few months, which is a shame. :/ But it's awesome because no matter how long we don't talk, when we do meet up we still get back into the same chatting groove as before. :)

I thought of updating with food pictures and stuff but I've lost the mood, haha. The inspiration to update here is so fleeting. Till next time then!

Drawing Again?

This blog has been neglected and I am so sorry! D:

Just for the sake of updating (I suddenly feel like it. I'm not gonna question it, haha), here are two drawings I've got done within the past month. Haven't been drawing much at all but hoping to get some creative juices spilling now that Sammie and I are working on Project Draweekly together. Basically we're drawing every week together, according to themes! Even though an oceans separate us we can still do projects together. Yay. :3

So Week 1 was for us to draw a redhead and Week 2 was to draw her boyfriend. Here are my results. Week 3 and 4 have merged because of GASP assignments.

Campus life is being tedious lately. I'll be honest, I really prefer Taylor's before the sudden spike in population. I reach campus at 7.30 and parking is already almost to the tiang elektrik in Zone H. Last year if I reached at 7.30 I could still grab a spot in the entrance area. Parking woes aside, assignments are reasonable. Some subjects are more bearable than others. I can't wait to get to UniSA next year and choose my own electives.

Suddenly feel very tired. Could be from the climbing I did earlier today (and yes, I climb regularly now wewt) but dunno, it feels somewhat emotional. Last week I listened to Jet Lag, that new Simple Plan + Natasha Bedingfield song and I teared up wtf. It's not even a slow sad song it's all upbeat and pop rockish. @_@ Oh, hormones.

Hopefully I'll post more stuff in the near future. I want to be active blogging again. :D Also since that Perry is back from the shop I'll be able to take more pictures. Here's to having the drive to get back into this.
