Paper bags and plastic hearts

I had no classes yesterday, so I was given the task of fetching Mira from school.
She came into the car screaming her head off.
About how there was going to be a free BLG concert on that very night.
I was like WHUT free are you serious.
And turns out it was TRUE. O_o

So we went to Bukit Kiara and sat through four acts to reach BLG performing at 10. I was quite impressed with the second act, Aizat. I only knew one song from him, 'I Go' from the Talentime soundtrack so I had good expectations of him. He was actually really good! The live version of 'I Go' is so much more awesome than the studio version. I wish I could have it. :( I even downloaded a few of his other songs I heard at the concert. Really nice. I like 'Fikirlah'. It's got a nice melody to it.

Anyway, BLG. The main reason we went.
I have no photos to show because my phone camera quality wasn't all that great and all I got was a mess of rainbow lights and a vague impression of the band amidst the coloured chaos. But the show was AWESOME. So totally worth it, waiting four hours to watch them. They played 'Love Drunk', 'Five Minutes to Midnight', 'Thunder', 'Heels Over Head', 'Heart Heart Heartbreak', 'Hero/Heroine', 'Two Is Better Than One' ... and there was one more song which I'm not so familiar with. Overall, an excellent show.

Martin jumped across the crowd barrier and did some crowd-surfing. (!!) Too bad we were standing on the opposite side of the stage. This is the second time I watched them live, but this time they've reminded me why I fell in love with their sound when I was fifteen. :)

In other news, I'm done with my group's music video project.
First time editing by myself, whoop!
I have some stuff I'm not all that satisfied about and I won't be able to rest until we're done with the presentation. Brr.

Conundrum

Read this and tell me what is this article trying to say.
Is the story about Miley Cyrus?
Or is it about Taylor Swift?
Are they really lesbian lovers?
Who is the twenty year old man whose mother would kill him if he got another tattoo?
And since when did Taylor Swift have a tattoo similar to her dad's?
Anyone with ideas, feel free to share. Hahaha.

Spilling intestines and stuff

Spent the past couple days watching the whole of season 5.

Spoilers ahead, I guess.

Firstly, my reviewing has sucked lately and for that I apologise. I only ever do proper reviewing nowadays for college assignments, and I haven't really reviewed anything in this blog since the Abhorsen trilogy. I think. I'm just going to post some random thoughts here, so don't expect a real review.
K. My overall thought? So. Depressing. I cried a few times. Especially the part with the little girl that Bailey lay down with because her dad was too busy trying to find a plane ticket to Mexico. I found the lesbian plot between Erica and Callie very annoying, mostly because I thought that Erica was a total bitch. Haha.
I quite liked the dorkiness of Derek and Meredith's romance, even though asking whether or not they were going to make it through as a couple for long got really old. The whole 'this brainscan shows the very first time we scrubbed in together yay!' thing was so cute. Also Derek giving Meredith that diseased kidney in a jar as a forgive-me present. And how his wedding present to her was a solo surgery. Haha.
Also, I think little Grey is cute. In a little bunny that remembers everything sort of way.
The episode where all the graduating college students died except for the valedictorian gave me shivers. Along with that guy who got into the car crash, the way he kept saying over and over again, how he was just going to the back and the crash shouldn't have happened. So depressing.

But the number one depressing moment?
The ending.
Sniff.
I mean, most of us know that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are leaving the show but I didn't expect them to leave so ... depressingly. I think it's a sort of consolation that as best friends, they died on the same day and sort of accompanied each other. But still! Especially the way George had to go, I was in shock. I get sad every time I think about it. I always watched the show for Izzie and George, mostly because I like to look at their faces. Heh.
And now they're gone.
Maybe.
The finale was very vague.
Gah.

I actually had a dream about people having surgeries last night.
I need to watch something cheerful.
Hahaha.

Random note: I think I've actually seen that Grey's Book of Anatomy before in the SA library. I could be mistaken. I just sorta remember finding it during one of the debate research sessions in Form 4. (/random)

Throwing pebbles

Taylor Swift herself posted this on her Facebook!
So very like.
Guh, no words.
Some of the lyric changes are weird (I think he should have stuck to saying 'prince' and then 'princess') but still it's awesome.
Sung from Romeo's POV, by the way. :)

MTV World Stage

"You people are ridiculous!"
- Doug Robb, Hoobastank

He said that after the whole crowd sang along to Ghostbusters.
Freaking awesome man!
Hahaha.
Anyhoo, they were my favourite act throughout the night. I don't agree with the newspaper report. LOL.

Special ultra mega thanks to Laksh for giving me the pass to go in! :3

There's more to be said I guess but I'm kinda in a rut right now.
I HAVE A PRESENTATION TO PREPARE ARGH.
I thought I'd be done with sejarah when I left high school
Think again, my dear juniors.

The storyteller

Yasmin Ahmad
1958-2009
May Allah bless you.
Rest in peace.
:(

Found the news when Ashman posted about it on FB.
The 15Malaysia group was keeping tabs on her condition, and it was just announced around a half hour ago, give or take some minutes.
And I just found her blog like five minutes ago.
I've admired her, yes. But never really took the time to watch all her stuff, never got around to finding out more about her.

Well it's never too late to do that.

She'll be missed.

Scenes from a hat

I've watched these videos for so long ...
I'm starting to lose awareness of ... well whatever else that's been keeping me entertained for the past two weeks.
Who's Line is freaking hilarious.

Last day of holidays baby!
Starting tomorrow.
To mark the end, I will ... continue doing whatever it is I have been doing.
Yeah.
So much for getting a move on with my AfterParty novel-in-progress. I've only done one chapter. I'm so ... unmotivated to write at the moment. Blah.

*continues watching Who's Line*

When I grow up I want to be

J.K. ROWLING
IS
MY HERO.

:D

She's the woman who wrote the books that made me a geek.
The books that got me into fantasy.
The books that weaned me off Enid Blyton.
The books that shaped what ... most of my pre-pubescent years.
When I was 11, I was actually depressed when I didn't receive an owl from Hogwarts.
Joining the world of fanfiction taught me how to write.
Joining the world of fanart taught me how to draw.
What can I say.
The movies are pure entertainment, etc. I watch because they're entertaining.
Inaccurate. But OK.
It's the books I care about.
Thanks J.K. Rowling. You da bomb!

AND

I'm in MALAYSIAN TODAY!
No, nothing to do with Raja Petra.
There's an 'N' behind the 'Malaysia' so yeah.

Hehe. My first ever interview! xD

What up, gAang.

Look!
It's like they took the tan off of both Sokka and Katara and dumped it on Zuko.
I'm still a little disappointed at the casting (I'm satisfied with Aang though), but heck, if the movie turns out well all will be forgiven. If the movie turns out well.
If.
But y'know, Dev Patel and Jackson Rathbone, what's not to like?
xD

And look again!
Pink Meow Kitty is now a BADGE.
I'm thinking of making it into a t-shirt.
A blue t-shirt, with Pink Meow Kitty on the front.
With wings lah. I forgot to put his (yes it's a boy kitty. Or maybe it's asexual.) wings on in this badge.

Finally gave in my MARA loan form! Excellent. I don't have to worry about it for like. I dunno. Another few weeks? Then I have to start scratching my head over learning how to manage finances. There's a time for everything.

Time moves on

Despite all the weirdness surrounding him ...
Michael Jackson was a brilliant artist.
R.I.P.

In other news.
I've climbed out of the hole.
In conclusion...
Time needed to get over somebody (despite the fact that there was never any knowledge of this issue on the other party's side): 2 weeks. One week of wallowing in emo self-pity and one week of chilling.
Now, I'm just going to enjoy not being hung up over anybody.
Ahhhh feels goooood.
Give me a few weeks and I'll miss the crushing feeling. HAHA.

Insert fire reference here

...
Despite still being a little upset that they couldn't find some nice, hot chinese fella to play Zuko, I think I can live with Dev Patel playing the part. xD I'll just think of the movie as being completely separate from the tv show. They are individual creations after all.
Ah, feel much better about this whole tv-to-movie transition. xD

But if the movie sucks on its own, then there's nothing I can say.
It better be good.

Reset, reset!

Avatar Casting - First Look

All I can say is, are you kidding me???
Jesse McCartney???
Dear God.
If this is true and not some rumour-twisted joke, he better be a bloody good actor.
Or else I don't think I could enjoy this.
Zuko's one of my favourite characters, you CAN'T SPOIL IT FOR MEEEE.
D:

*hopes it's not true*

Ps. I'm OK with the other people. Although I really was wishing they'd get ... y'know ... non-white people.

Behind the Big-O shades

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAD
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LING SHIN

;D I know it's exams and all, but rock on in a studious way, yeah?

In other ... bloggy events;
Let's play a game!
I call it "Who That There?"

First one to guess gets an imaginary cookie.
I don't think it's that hard though.
Probably ridiculously easy.

EDIT:
Yeah, that's Zac Efron. He whose name sounds like efferent neuron.
*cough*
Laugh with me, Bio students? Yes? No? Oh well. xD
Nad wins the cookie! :D

Anyway, a story behind the random pic-posting. I was hanging around an lj-er's blog, and she happened to be a 'Zefron' fangirl. Not the crazy rabid ones, one of the funny witty ones. Anyway, she had a lot of pics of him on her page. One of which was this. And dagnabbit, I never thought that I'd see the day that I'll admit that yes, Zac Efron is a sexy Disney baby.
Yes.

01. Compose a list of your top 15 sexiest famous men.
02. Collect one picture of each guy on your list.
03. Post them in your journal.
04. Tag 15 people to do the same.

Hee, I've actually wanted to do this for a while. These people are not arranged in any order. First find, first post. :P Oh, and if anybody disagrees with anyone on this list ... well, one man's meat is another man's poison, yeah? Whee. :)

Some of these people are more cute than sexy. So sue me, I'm more of a cute-guy-girl.

Ps. Rule No. 1 up there? Makes me wish I had a guy friend to tag so he'd have to answer with his 15 sexiest men. Way to be sexist, tag meme. xD

Star-gazing, whoooo.

The sibs and I are staying over at our grandparents' place, so we ended up watching Star Wars in Acu's room till midnight. So, we're giggling around and making jokes about Luke's eyes talking (Love me, Daddy!!! There's still GOOD in youuuuu!) and why Mira and I never noticed that Han Solo has a senget smile:

Me: Dude, we're supposed to notice when guys have senget smiles. Y'know, 'cause it's hot [senget smiles].
Mira: Yeah ... and ... Han Solo is handsome.
Me: Not hot.
Mira: Yeah. Dunno why.
Me: Maybe it's because we know that Harrison Ford is like ... past 60.
Mira: Yeah, that's why.

Then, when commenting on Leia's 'outfit' while the scenes with Jabba the Hut:

Acu: Wow, the princess sure is showing off LOT.
Me: Hmmm. Well ... they're in the desert. It's ... hot? :'D
Acu: But Luke is wearing black. That should be even hotter!
Me: But he's got the Force.
Mira: His own air-cond blowing around inside his baju!
Me: Yeeeaaaaahh. Learning the Force is a package deal.

Then, randomly later while watching Darth Vader ...

Mira: I wonder how he goes to the toilet.
Me: He's a machine. I don't think he goes to the toilet. Or eat, for that matter.
Mira: But still.
Me: Well, he' one with the Force. Magical pee-holding Force?
Mira: Or, he's just got a bag down there to catch everything.
Both of us: *crack up*

During the plane-shooting scene:

Mira: What is that thing? [one of the aliens]
Me: Looks like a ... fish.
Nazim: It's shaped like a sotong.
Me: Well then. Sotong fish.
Mira: I bet they just smooshed them both together.

And, at the very very end, where everyone's celebrating, and you can see the ghosts of the three Jedis who died?

Me: Hey look! It's Obi-Wan ... and Yoda ... and ... HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN??!
Acu: WHAT.
Me: There!
Acu and Mira: Whaaaaat, Hayden Christensen?? :
Me: What the fish? What's he doing there?
Hayden Christensen in movie: *continues to smile happily*
The rest of us: :O
Mira: I feel sorry for the old actor guy who played Anakin in this first trilogy.

So yes, people. Buy the new Star Wars box set! You'll get a random Hayden Christensen cameo. Yup. I'm still not over the weirdness.

Fashion out da windooww. :D

This pic made me LOL so hard. I had to share it with the world.
Say it with me, Mira! "THEY SO MACHO."
xD

OhMyGlasses

TAKE THAT, NAD!
My pic of him is cooler than yours.
:P
Geez, is he ridiculously pretty.

Yeah, I'll go back to reading Bio now.
Hmmm, blood clotting.

Lemme hear you fangirls squee.

Who's a pretty, pretty boy? :D

Seriously. Shasha actually did a fangirl flap (ie. flapping your hands up and down in a strange imitation of a chicken when very excited) when I made her look him up. And he's Mira's permanent phone wallpaper. And Tarsha stopped thinking of Alex Pettyfer enough to make space for him. Well, those are the more interesting reactions anyway.

As for me? I'm just sad he isn't Edward Cullen. ;_;
(It's OK Robert Pattinson, I know you're doing your best. <3)
Ps. His name's Tom Sturridge.

Fluffy emo cartoon hair

I've watched half of The Jane Austen Book Club on Acu's laptop last night. Had to stop because Papa wanted to go home. But so far, I just have to say that Hugh Dancy is oh so adorable. And hot. Yesss. His character in the movie has an R2-D2 ringtone. Hahaha, he's so geeky.

Went to OU with the fam this morning. Hung around MPH for a long time, since that all of us are readers: Papa went for the comic section, Mama went to look at the magazines and cooking books, and Nazim and Hanna hung out at different parts of the children's section. Mira and I went to the young adults' section.

So, I was hanging around the adventure/mystery shelves, and there was this boy sitting on the floor reading a book. And he had fluffy cartoon emo hair. xD
So I walk down the aisle towards where he was sitting and looked at the books on the shelf opposite him. Then, out of curiousity, I looked down, wondering what he was reading.

First I saw the edges of a black and blood-red cover. Then the words ... and I'm pretty sure I was still as a statue by now, because I just realised that he was reading Eclipse. xD I was like, whoa. He's reading Eclipse, lol. I thought it was funny.

Anyway, as a celebration of the beginning of the holidays, I drew Bobby Pendragon of the Pendragon book series. He was fun to colour. :D

Many tags today.

Random celeb-bit: James McAvoy's next film has him co-starring with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman in Wanted.

That guy is on a ROLL!

In vaguely related news, I have decided to add another career option to my list of things I don't want to be when I grow up. Following doctor on the list which I haven't updated since I was seven, I now never want to be a casting director. Or anything related to sitting through auditions. I am a weak and flimsy person who cracks under pressure. D:

Now some sentences thrown together: Drama still chewing on my liver. Tuition took a shorter time than usual. Funny bones are humerous, but I'm the only one laughing. Holding on to people is mind-numbingly frustrating at times. I want new Avatar episodes. The month of march has me marching.
