I have declared yesterday as Mushroom Day. To illustrate why, above we see a Portobello Mushroom Burger. Check that baby out. It tasted delicious by the way. Backstory! Yesterday was supposed to be assignment submission day, then class. However, class got cancelled so Nick and I submitted our assignments, then thought of maybe going to watch a movie. Then, lo and behold, Nad called! :D And she announced that she just got a job. Congrats Floofle bb <3 So we all decided to have lunch at Delicous @ Sunway Pyramid to celebrate.
The burger was Nick's, while Nad and I shared a plate of Mushroom Mascarpone Spaghetti. All three of us shared a basket of Crispy Breaded Mushrooms. No picture of that, sorry. I attacked it in hunger before I could grab a photo. Anyway, it was all delicious. I love the little walnut bits in the spaghetti, such lovely texture. And the burger's vegetarian I think, which was kinda confusing because the waiter asked Nick if he's okay with having beef but when the burger arrived, there was not any evidence of bovine remains in sight. How strange.
After that Nad had to go, but Nick and I continued by watching Real Steel. My thoughts? It was really predictable, but I thought the cinematography was pretty and the soundtrack was awesome. And despite it being predictable, I enjoyed it the whole way through. It was a very feel-good movie, I think. :) Although Nick pointed out that they didn't elaborate on a lot of interesting stuff and overall the 'villains' were pretty vanilla. It was a fun watch, anyway.
So now begins a week of holidays. I'll be leaving for Adelaide tonight to go see how it's like Down Under and visit Sammie, Aishah and Fyra. :D We shall be reunited once again. I'll be sure to update next week about my shenanigans there. Till then, tartar! <3
Today a bunch of us got together to go watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Hannah and I put the plans together, so we ended up buying tickets for 18 people - another 4 tickets were bought on the day itself for other people who decided to tag along with the party. :p

The movie was pretty good, actually, considering it's a book adaptation. I was fairly satisfied. I liked most of the changes they made in the movie. The only thing I couldn't really get over was *SPOILER* the colour of Liliy's eyes and how Harry didn't fix his own wand before snapping the Elder Wand in half. *END SPOILER* So yeah. Overall, I'm content.
Had a bit of fun with the props and promo material they put up around TGV. :p Movie outing was a success! Yay!
I haven't been using Perry that often I'm afraid so no sem 2 pictures. There are some photos in Macaroni but dang am I lazy to transfer at the moment. So, pic-less post today!
What have I been doing?
Well I watched Inception twice, once with Acu and Mira and a second time with Sammie and Nick. And I've been like. Obsessed. And fangirling (Oh Arthur you beautiful thing in a three-piece suit) and other excited happy things. There's nothing quite like being a fangirl in a beautifully written fandom. Haha.
And I finally got to go rock-climbing omg. It was fun.
And there have been uni stuff to do which I have been completely procrastinating. Argh. Starting to get back into the groove though. Slowly does it. I think I have an idea for the IDM video already ... it hit me out of nowhere last night and it's been sitting right in my face.
Other than that I've been doing a lot of thinking.
Thinking complicates things though so I guess I should start going with the flow like Nad says. Instead of clinging to an Idea all the time, just go with the wind. I have no idea where the wind will take me though and I'll be honest and say that I'm worried about that.
I was watching Fellowship of the Ring and I realised how it's been almost ten years since it first premiered. Can you believe that? It's been almost a decade since I finished reading the trilogy and all the other books I had gotten myself into. It's been such a long time.
I was delighted to see that the movie was dripping with dramatic epicness. I mean ... wow. Some of it is horribly cheesy but it works so well and damn, Frodo is such a damsel in distress. Blegh. I used to have a crush on him, hehe. Pretty blue eyes.
I'm in the midst of rearranging a lot of stuff in my mind. One thing I'd like to change is my lack of drawing, writing and reading.
This makes me feel like watching the Keira Knightley movie again. I haven't watched it yet this year. I've seen it once every year ever since it came out and I have yet to grow tired of it.
Been pleasantly busy the past week, couldn't be happier. The war I have waged against boredom is still ongoing ... sometimes I emerge victorious, la championne de la bataille. Other times, I sink to a shameful defeat. But hey, I may have lost a few battles but the war's not over. ;)
Today in particular was good because of 3 things.
One being productivity!
The second being that I have achieved my personal goal of sitting in every chair in LT3. Fo realz.
The third being that Jov and I found a place which sells bubble tea near campus.
Shrek Forever After Watched this with Mama, Mira, Nazim and Hanna. Overall, it was entertaining. Much better than the third movie. So Shrek's got everything going for him ... family, friends, people who love and adore him. But he's not ... happy. He misses the good old days when people would run at the sight of him and he could take a mud bath in peace. So he signs a contract with Rumplestiltskin to get one day as an ordinary ogre again. Of course as is the structure of most 'deal with the devil' plots, things don't go according to how he had hoped it would be. I'm gonna be honest and say that I actually really enjoyed myself. It wasn't rib-cracking funny but it was a funny that lets you feel good about the world. I liked the whole 'resistance' idea they had going on. Some parts needed some suspension of disbelief but heck, it's Shrek. That's pretty much expected. Also there were some nice little gags that need a reference to be funny, those really made me smile. :) Watch it ... because it's Shrek! :p If you watched the others, might as well watch this to complete the experience. Personally, I think it's a really good mood-lightener.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Watched this with Mama, Mira, Nazim and Hanna. Overall, I thought it was a cute movie, your typical middle school kid's movie with a slight difference. The story covers the entire first year of Greg Heffley who is starting middle school. Greg has big dreams for middle school; he's going to be popular, everyone will love him and he's going to be at the very top of the social ladder. But the truth is, Greg is a bit of a jerk. He's selfish and cares nothing about others. His best friend Rowley is adorably ignorant of all the 'social rules' of middle school, and Greg sees him as an embarrassment, frequently using him for his own ends. What I found interesting is how for once in a kid's movie, the main character is the obvious jerk. I didn't like him at all, which I think is kind of the point. He pays for it in the end though, ending up lonely and depressed. What he did in the end I guess redeemed him a little, but personally I still think he's a jerk. Haha. The acting was quite good, there are a few faces you can look forward to in the next few years kid-wise. Chloe Moretz especially I want to look out for ... she was Hitgirl in Kick-Ass. There's some versatility for you. :) They also had some graphics in the movie which I would say are just OK looking. The animation though was very cute and I loved it. Watch if you're in the mood for some light-hearted kid fun. Also if you have younger relatives who will enjoy it.
Iron Man 2 Watched this with the fam. Overall, it was just OK. Expected more, to be honest. Most of the dialogue was boring, scriptwriting was too heavy on the infodump and too skimpy on the entertainment. Where did the wit and snark of the first Iron Man go? Acting was really good, but again if the script is bleh, the actors don't have that much to work with. Tony Stark was a good watch as usual, Pepper Potts was just meh (although I quite like their relationship dynamic). Scarlett Johansen's character is so boring. I am sorry. She did nothing for me. The main plot was predictable, most of the subplots were as well. The only time I perked up was when they brought Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury in. He brought some life to it, just for a little while. Action sequences were of course, yet another showcase of Wow, Graphics Are Awesome but ... had no oomph. I saw some video game animation going on for some of the fight scenes (nothing with robots or Iron Man). Would've liked it better if it were real and not animated. Also, wanted to slap Justin Hammer. What a jerk. :/ Watch ... for the sake of watching, or if you're an Iron Man fan. And if you're interested in The Avengers because there's some basic groundwork there for it. Also, I heard something about there being a tiny extra scene at the end (which I didn't stay to catch) so if you're going, wait a bit I guess. :)
When In Rome Watched this with Sha, Sammie, Fyra and Joe. The basic premise is that a workaholic girl scoops up some coins from that wishing fountain place (can't remember the name sorry) where people wish for love and ends up being hounded by a pack of males who have suddenly fallen in love with her. She has to decide whether or not the one she really loves is reciprocating because of his coin in the fountain or genuine love for her. Overall, I have to say that it was very bleh. Plot was mildly entertaining but so many things were rushed through. Subplots and the like. Also, some stuff was just so unnecesary and it was obvious they were setting things up for cheap laughs. The beginning of the movie made me cringe with shame - the editting needs a lot of work, they kept cutting away at strange moments and the extras' acting left much to be desired. The only thing I liked about the whole thing was watching Josh Duhamel (he's nice to look at) make a klutz of himself. It helps that Kirsten Bell is nice to watch too, but her character was so bland. Couldn't connect with her, and I hate her friends. I want to slap them all. Haha. Watch it if you're bored. Really really bored and there's nothing else to watch or do.
Kick-Ass Watched this with Nad, Hannah and Aidil. Superhero parody with a twist. Dave is your average, nerdy highschool boy with a comic book obsession. He decides to don a costume ... well, just because he can. After he's filmed during a fight with a bunch of thugs and his name is spread across the Interwebs, his fame skyrockets and some other 'heroes' start to sprout up, and that's when the plot starts to hit rollercoaster. This movie. Is violent. Very violent. I was a wuss and watched most of it from behind my fingers. I enjoyed this one mostly because it's so deliciously badass. Dave is adorable and naive, running through the night with his sticks and hitting people, hoping they will behave. Of course, he soon gets himself into deep trouble, getting caught up with the mafia and a few vengeful vigilantes. Helps that he's pretty. The acting was fun, from Dave to the mindblowing Hitgirl (she will blow your mind. And make parents faint.). The action sequences are insane, and towards the end you'll have to suspend disbelief a little. The comedy is dark in some points, slapstick in others. There're some nice comic cliche references that made me smile. Watch if you don't mind the gore. And if you're particularly fond of superhero movies. :)
How to Train Your Dragon
Watched this with Nad. I walked into this one without that much on the expectation side. I'd seen lots of positive response around Deviantart, so I thought I'd give it a shot. In a land of Vikings (Berk) Hiccup is the odd one out, stringy and unathletic. Basically, not much of a Viking. He dreams of killing a dragon and impressing his father. Instead, he ends up friends with one (Toothless). What can I say? I love this movie. I lovelovelovelovelove it. Sounds like your typical kid's movie right? Yeah it sure does. But it isn't all that typical. You have to watch it to understand ... everything is so gorgeous, the animation, the SOUNDTRACK (swoons) , the ENDING. I teared up at the end. Toothless is the most adorable dragon I've ever seen in my life, he reminds me of Zed. Yes, Zed the kitten. Half the time I was squeaking to myself and wanting to give the thing a huge hug. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was how all the younger generation Vikings had American accents while their parents were sporting Scottish. What's up with that? Is acquiring a Scottish accent part of becoming an adult or something? Argh accent fail. Watch it. Just watch it. Then download the soundtrack. And listen to it on repeat. Ahhh.
Today, visited the pet shop at OU. There was a pair of bored looking Persian cats in a cage. I poked my fingers at one, and s/he kept nibbling at me.
Hanna found a little toy ball with a bell in it. She showed it to them and WHOA. They were suddenly so alive! Running around the cage, following the jingly ball. So we sneakily lifted the cage door and dropped the ball in ... While the workers weren't looking. They were so happy, chasing after the ball and bouncing around the cage.
I hope we made their day more interesting. :)
Ps. Watched How to Train Your Dragon with Nad yesterday. It was pleasantly surprised! I love Toothless. Like a giant flying kitten. Aww.
Watched Avatar for the second time today but in 3-D. It was awesome. :)
I think I'm in love with this movie. Nyehehehe. Second time watching means picking up on tiny details. Loads of fun. I want the DVD so I can watch it again. Whoo!
